I take back what I said about the Royals keeping Beltran. I heard about some of the offers for him and it would be wise to give him up. Some teams are offering two, three, even four good prospects that the Royals could use. We really need a catcher now, though, since both of ours are on the DL. We have only three or four in our minor leagues. We'll probably put Sweeney behind the plate since he was a catcher, and since he isn't a good defensive First Baseman.

Rant over

I just heard today that if the Yankee's can't aquire the Mariners P Freddy Garcia, They will be going after the Tigers P Joe Johnson. Yankess must be getting desperate to be lusting after a Tiger. I like most of the nominations for best staff in the Majors, for me it is a toss up. The Chicago Cubs are a very deep staff that can hit you with Flamethrowers like Kerry Wood or Mark Prior or a finesse guy like 4-time Cy Young award winner Greg Maddux. But The Oakland A's have the 3 guys who are lights out most of the time. The Cy Young winner Barry Zito has had a rough year but he will get better as the season wears on. My only knock on the Cubs is they are still to young to make a real impact, Prior just got off the DL, and Wood's record just sucks, the guy with all the W's is Zambrano.

the yankees didn't cut Boone. he's still listed on the 40 man roster. he's due to be activated next month.

believe me I wish he was still there, he would be one hell of a 2nd baseman, or at the very least would make for some interesting trade bait.

boone was a def hot pick up last year.. but once he left the reds and came to the yanks... he didnt do anything, other than hit that deciding home run, thats it. He cooled off hardcore. Ya u might be able to say he wouldamade some interesting trade bait, but he hadnt proved himself when he went to new york, some have it some dont... he just didnt have wut it takes to be a yankee...

this vote is to hard to decide... pitchin and hittin make the game fun and interesting.. id have to go with the pitchin tho.. id much rather see a perfect game than someone hit for the cycle

Wow. A literal Double post. Sweet. Yankee fans everywhere should be grateful that jackass Brett Boone hurt himself playing basketball. If he hadn't injured himself, you probably would not have A-Rod.

Well Hush, it is hard to deny the Marlins talent. They are young and primed for another run. The Marlins have an excellent rotation. On the offensive side, both Cabrera and Lowell are a great 1-2 punch and Ho-Ass Choi is fast becoming a nice player himself. But , there is just something is missing. What could it be? Ahhh, Yes. Now I remember.

Thanks for being cheap Florida.

 pudge looks really thin in that pic. he must be losing his meal money at the Greektown Casino. I don't think he's going to finish his four year deal with the tigers. either next year or the year after next he will be traded for some prospects to a contending team. if the tigers keep losing why bother having an expensive player who you could trade, on your roster. too bad nobody wants higginson, that overpaid lazy fuck

Yes indeed coclarckson, Bobby Higginson is a useless piece of shit, they really should cut him or something. I have to say, I don't agree with you when you said Pudge will be gone next year or so. Yes, it is true, the Tigers do not have a winning record. But compared to last year, They have improved leaps and bounds. I think that as long as the Redwings incapacitated, Mike Illitch will slowly funnel more cash into the Tigers. They signed Pudge for a few reasons, one being the box office draw. It is not often you get to add a first ballot Hall of Fame caliber player to your roster with a good 5 or 6 years left in him. Secondly, He is a winner. He just won a championship with Florida, he is a 10-time All Star, an MVP, this guy is just a great player. Lastly, He is a catcher, this is one of the hardest positions to play in the sport, he has to know the batters, and what they like to swing at and he has to know his pitchers and what and where they like to throw. I would once again like to thank Florida. You guys rule!

Yeah, The Royals traded Beltran to Houston. But, the royals did get what they wanted and a little more. The Royals got third baseman Mark Teahen, catcher John Buck and right-handed pitcher Mike Wood. Wood and Buck will begin playing in the majors immediately, while Teahen will go to Triple-A and work on his swing. The great George Brett will be helping him with that. So it is looking good for the Royals in this trade, hopefully next year, they can make a run for the AL Central again. Hey why not even this year, if they get their act together.

Yeah, that would be great. Now the Royals face the St. Louis Cardinals, which is big, (ala 1985 World Series, aka I-70 Series). Hopefully Detroit keeps losing (no offense to Detroit fans, which is a lot) so we can finish out of last place, maybe even third if Cleveland losesmore games.

It would be nice to have something like a 16 team tournament to decide the winner of the World Series. Unless it was a single elimenation tournament, the damn thing would take forever. Unfortunatly, Baseball is like college football, they are stuck in their old ways and unwilling to change to make the sport better for the fans. Assholes.
